M40 ROUNDTABLE FILM
To culminate the first stage of our Artist in Residence project M40 Artist Toni-Dee Paul hosted a long table conversation. Inviting members of the community for dinner to talk about what makes this place tick, what people love about it, and what they’d like to change.
This film by Videographer Ryan Cooper documents the event and conversation as well as expands on Toni-Dee’s experience working as an Artist as she begins a journey of engagement and understanding with a community
Running time: 10 mins, 40 secs
Across 18 days between November 2021 – April 2022 Toni-Dee Paul worked as an Artist in Residence, undertaking a research and development phase on Moston Lane, Moston. Engaging with residents who live, work, worship, and access there. The priority of this initial stage was getting to know the place and community from a cultural, social, political, and economic level. The end goal of this stage of the process is to identify some key networks, businesses, individuals, and groups that will help shape the next stage of development.
