SICK! FESTIVAL SECURES THREE-YEAR FUNDING

Sick! Festival secures three-year funding as part of The Arts Council England National Portfolio 2023-26

We are delighted that SICK! Festival will be part of the Arts Council England National Portfolio 2023-26 Let’s Create!

We gratefully received an offer of standstill funding that will secure our organisation in delivering its mission over the next three years.

Arts Council NPO funding is vital to our Business Plan and to our 10-Year Commitment to the North Manchester communities of Moston, Harpurhey and Charlestown.

The funding period will take us through SICK! Festival 2024, the second that will hold more than 70% of activities in Moston, Harpurhey and Charlestown, through to our preparations for SICK! Festival 2026.

It will support us in a journey to commission the most exciting, emerging and diverse local and international artists to co-produce new work with the community that is meaningful, important and relevant.

SICK! Festival Artistic Director/CEO, Helen Medland, said:

“SICK! Festival is super honored to be part of the 2023-26 Let’s Create portfolio. We will continue to work with our local and international communities, artists and partners to make great impactful things happen and help change the way we all think about live experiences.”

The arts council have invested £446 million per annum to bring art, culture, and creativity to more people, in more places, across the country.

Arts Council England Chief Executive, Darren Henley, said:

“Together, each of the 990 organisations that have been offered funding today will contribute to a portfolio that is rich, varied and truly national. This is our widest ever spread of investment across the country, ensuring that many more people will have access to a wider choice of exceptional art, culture and creative opportunities on their doorsteps.”

“We are in tough times but we must remember creativity brings with it extraordinary dividends, boosting our country’s economic growth, creating jobs, bringing communities closer together, and making us happier as individuals. Everyone deserves to enjoy the benefits it brings, and with this investment, we believe we’ve taken a decisive step towards making that vision a reality.”
