If your neighbourhood was a person, what would they be like? Friendly or prickly? Confident or self-critical? Serious or funny? And how did they end up that way?

We invite people who live or work in Moston & Harpurhey in Manchester and Zuidplein in Rotterdam to take a fresh look at where they live with psychological city investigators Urban Psyche. They use techniques normally used by psychiatrists to understand places rather than people.

Do you live in Moston, Harpurhey or Zuidplein? Join this online workshop with Urban Psyche to talk about what makes your neighbourhood tick.

Urban Psyche is a research project and web resource edited by Chris Murray and Charles Landry, who spent two years researching links between the man psyche and cities for their publication, Psychology & the City: The Hidden Dimension (Comedia 2017). Through this site we aim to stimulate debate, capture new thinking, research and activity around an emerging field of Urban Psychology and its enormous potential to help people live better lives in cities.
