Jackie Hagan is a live artist who was diagnosed with a rare and variable disease. Most commonly ‘sufferers’ live for 5-15 years after symptoms show. This was 6 years ago. She has coped by embracing uncertainty, covering her life in pompoms and mainly – Ignoring it.
In this new video project, she has decided to face it by talking to other artists with shortened and uncertain lifespans. Join her in this anarchic, poignant and hilarious journey into accepting the inevitable.
Jackie Hagan is a multi-award-winning poet, playwright and performer. In 2018 she became a Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellow and was nominated for a Women of the World award for effect- ing social change using spoken word. She has contributed to many programmes on Radio Four, represented the UK in slam poetry in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and was the subject of a Channel Four documentary short. She has delivered over two thousand workshops in prisons, schools, hospitals and internationally.
